Porn star Dakota Skye died Wednesday — just weeks after being trolled online over posing topless at the George Floyd Mural. She was 27 years old.

The California resident — whose real name was Lauren Kaye Scott — was discovered dead in her Los Angeles motorhome by her unnamed husband, who identified the body to authorities, The Sun reported. The coroner’s office has yet to confirm a cause of the death.

The Tampa Bay native, who also performed under the alias “Kota Sky,” recently faced backlash online over a pic posted to her now-deleted Instagram page. It showed the blonde bombshell flashing the camera at the Santa Barbara mural of George Floyd, who was killed in police custody last year.

According to the Toronto Sun, the one-time Pornhub favorite had posted the scandalous snap on May 4 with the caption, “Happy #GeorgeFloyd day in #santabarbara <3 #dakotaskye equality&fair treatment for all. Dope mural.”

The stunt didn’t go over too well on social media, with one aghast commenter writing, “This is some serious disrespectful bulls*** Lauren.”

“Wtf what does flashing have to do with George Floyd death,” wondered another of the tone-death pic.

The “Blonde College Sluts” star defended the racy photo-op by claiming that she was “celebrating BAD cops being checked with abusing there authority against human beings … hello.”

“No human being should die getting arrested,” wrote Skye, who has appeared in over 300 skin flicks since she started her career in 2013 age 18. She was nominated for Best New Starlet in 2015 at the AVN Awards, aka the “Oscars of porn.” She remained semi-active as a performer until last year, and had nearly 300 credits to her name, according to the Internet Adult Film Database, spanning virtually every major production company.

However, sources told the adult industry news outlet XBIX that she had also been suffering from “personal struggles,” which reportedly included an addiction to alcohol and fentanyl, as well as an abusive family environment.

“Lauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse,” Skye’s aunt Linda Arden told The Sun, adding that her niece “died almost exactly two years after her mother — my baby sister’s — death, which was caused by addiction and alcoholism.”

Not only that, but two of Skye’s grandparents had reportedly died of COVID-19 within the last year. Arden also claimed that Skye was estranged from her husband who had “loved her dearly.”

In 2017, the starlet was arrested for slapping her then boyfriend Robert Anderson Jr. in the face after sex — because he allegedly got mad she wouldn’t get off her phone and leave his Florida home.

“After sex, Scott would not get off the phone,” according to her arrest report at the time. “Anderson Jr. wanted Scott to leave his residence. She became upset and hit Anderson Jr. in the face, swelling and cutting his bottom lip.”

Still, her defenders claim she was merely misunderstood: “She was stalked by demons like no one will ever understand unless you’ve lived it,” Arden said.

The adult entertainer’s family and friends said they were devastated by her loss.

“Dakota was a dear friend and part of our industry family, and we are saddened by her loss,” her friend and porn industry insider James Bartholet told AVN Magazine. “She still had so much more to give to the world and to the industry, and I’m just very saddened and at a loss for words.”

Bartholet concluded: “We wish all the best to her family, and we hope people respect their privacy and please remember her in a good way.”

Meanwhile, Skye’s aunt Arden takes solace in the fact that her “sweetest girl” niece “no longer has to walk through this world in pain.”
