Shoppers rush to nab Holly Willoughy’s ‘perfect’ £45 spring-ready black midi dress

If there’s one thing we can’t get enough of, it’s Holly Willoughby’s wardrobe. The This Morning presenter has amassed millions of followers on Instagram where she shares her outfits each day.

As well as sending us into hysterics each morning on TV, Holly works as an ambassador for Marks and Spencer, creating edits of her favourite pieces from the retailer, and there’s one item from her latest edit that has got her followers going wild.

On Sunday the presenter shared a snap of her wearing a black midaxi dress from M&S, £45 here, captioning the post: “How stunning is this little black dress? I’m in love! It’s from my newest edit for M&S and the shape and fit are just perfect”.

The dress is made from a pure cotton poplin so holds its voluminous shape, with a fitted waist and tied cuffs at the arms to give it an ultra-flattering fit. Holly styled hers with strappy heels, but it’s the kind of dress that can be worn for more low key settings too – just throw on some sandals and an oversized shopper with your favourite shades and you’re good to go.

Holly’s exact dress costs£45 here, as is still available in all sizes from 6-24. However, we know M&S hero pieces tend to sell out quickly, especially when given the Holly stamp of approval, so just in case, there are some other similar options out there.

If you’re more of a fan of a short sleeve in the warmer months, this Abercrombie and Fitch midi dress,£92 here, could be the answer to your springtime prayers. The fitted chest immediately flares out into a dramatic a-line shape, and the short puff sleeves add a bit of drama to an otherwise simple dress.

Comfort is key, and you can’t go wrong with some shirring and a loose fit to help you stay comfortable as the temperature rises, which is why this black tiered dress from New Look,£29.99 here, is ideal. The sweetheart neckline mimics Holly’s M&S dress, but the relaxed fit and shirred bust means it's both comfortable breezy to wear.

Linen is a spring/summer must have for any wardrobe, so adding this Boden linen midi dress,£78 here , to your wardrobe should be a no brainer. It can also be worn for more formal events with a strappy heel and clutch, so it’ll be putting in the work all year round.

This River Island midi dress,£47 here, is definitely a perfect dupe for Holly’s thanks to its ultra fitted waist and v shaped neckline. It also has a ruffled neckline and ruffled hem, which add extra shape and volume to it – the perfect flouncy spring dress.

Finally, if minimalism is more your thing, this simple black midi dress from another of Holly’s favourite brands, Ro&Zo,£39 here , might be right up your street. The minimalist shape and design gives you plenty of freedom to get creative with accessories, jewellery, and jackets whilst still keeping you looking effortlessly cool.
