Christmas Day is due to take place on a Saturday in 2021, and although shops are typically open on this day of the week, when it comes to December 25 things are a little different. In the UK, it is enshrined in law under the Christmas Day (Trading) Act 2004, that all big stores must close their doors on the big day.

High street retailers are likely to reopen on Boxing Day in line with the beginning of the seasonal sales.
