A woman looking for love has revealed how she uses ‘strategic dating’ to find matches with everything that she wants in a partner.

Olivia, from Kent, went through a bad break-up of a 10-year relationship.

And when she decided she was ready to put herself back out there, she didn’t want the ‘bulls***’.

The 27-year-old is looking for men who match her personality, aspirations, goals so she is picky with the dating sites and matches she chooses.

When asked about strategic dating Olivia explained: “I think that comes from the fact I don’t want to waste my time. I was in a relationship for a decade and it was such a waste of time.

“I was ready to get back into it. I thought okay, I am career orientated and I just thought I want a site that aligns with my interest and goals.

“I don’t want to roll about on random dating sites when I know exactly what I want, and for me, because I’m interested in being successful, I know where to go to find that.

“It may seem a bit selfish but I find it really motivating for myself to be around people that I know can add value to my life.

“It could be mentally, teaching me a thing or two because they’re interested in or have achieved what I want to achieve.

“I’m just cutting out any of the bull***. No more time wasters. Why beat around the bush, I know what I’m looking for”.

    • Men in relationships use 'bounce method' to avoid tempting attractive singletons

Olivia joined the dating site Seeking.com, a platform that connects 'attractive and successful' singles from around the world.

And while she's selective with her matches, the singleton has made some special connections – including one man who flew her out to California to meet.

“For the most part, I had one which actually lead to an in-person meet abroad, so there was that,” she explained.

“The rest can be a lot more casual – just meeting them, you know how dating is.

“But I am currently chatting to another guy at the moment, once again abroad, but that is becoming more serious. So, fingers crossed.”

In hope of meeting the perfect match, Olivia was flown to California for an unforgettable date.

She said: “It was more than a casual date so we ended up staying together. He took me around and showed me all of the touristy stuff, as well as all of the local spots.

“Nice hikes, all the standard walk along the beach, all of that. Showed me all the good places – I had some of the best Mexican food in my life.

“It was my first time in California, so it can feel a little overwhelming to be thrown in that way, but it is nice to always have someone familiar”.

    • 'Reverse catfishing' is new dating trend singletons should look out for

Olivia has been fortunate enough to avoid any weird and bizarre matches since joining the dating scene.

She added: “It's the internet so online, people can always be a bit hit and miss but no.

“It’s important to know which red flags to look out for – one of my things is immediately jumping on a FaceTime call so that you can negate any catfishing.”
