Tiger Woods, 45, is one of the world’s best golfers. After suffering multiple leg injuries after being in a car crash on Tuesday, he is luckily on the mend.

Tiger has a whopping net worth of $800million, according to CelebNetWorth.com.

It’s a massive sum that’s currently equivalent to around £564million.

The site also claims that Tiger’s annual salary is $50million, which currently stands at around £35million.

Tiger’s long and successful career as a professional golfer is to thank for his huge fortune.

Tiger was born in 1975 in Cypress, California, to an American father and a Thai mother.

He is an only child but has three half-siblings from his father’s first marriage.

Tiger’s first name is Eldrick, but was nicknamed Tiger after a Vietnamese soldier and friend of his father, Vuong Dang Phong, to whom his father had also given that nickname.

According to his official website, Tiger took an interest in golf as early as six months old as he watched his father – who was an amateur golfer – play.

Tiger appeared on American daytime TV talk show The Mike Douglas Show at age two, showing audiences his putting skills against comedian Bob Hope.

At age five, he was featured in monthly golf magazine Golf Digest.

Before turning seven, Tiger won the Under Age 10 section of a Californian golf competition called Drive, Pitch, and Putt, and later won the youngest age category at the Junior World Golf Championships.

He went on to win the Junior World Golf Championships six times.

When he was 15, Tiger became the youngest ever golfer to win the US Junior Amateur Championship, and a year later, after competing in his first PGA Tour event, he was named Golf World Player of the Year.

Tiger enrolled at Stanford University in 1994 under a golf scholarship, but left two years later to become a professional golfer.

At age 19, in 1995, Tiger participated in his first PGA Tour Major, the Masters, and tied at 41st place.

Two years later, he won the tournament, becoming the youngest golfer to ever do so.

Tiger turned professional at 20 years of age and immediately signed advertising deals with Nike, Inc., and Titleist, which ranked as the most lucrative endorsement contracts in golf history at that time.

Since then, Tiger has won 106 golfing competitions and 15 major tournaments, including five Masters, four PGA Championships, three US Open Championships, and three British Open Championships.

With his second Masters victory in 2001, Tiger became the first golfer ever to hold four professional major championships at the same time.

As well as being a golfer, Tiger is an entrepreneur and owns The Tiger Woods Learning Lab, an educational facility for underserved young people in California, as well as The Woods Jupiter, a restaurant and sports bar in Florida.

Tiger has appeared on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid athletes, and in 2009, the magazine reported that he was the first professional athlete to earn over a billion dollars in his career.

The star golfer was married to Swedish model Elin Nordegren from 2004 to 2010 and the former couple have two children.

Since 2017, Tiger has been in a relationship with restaurant manager Erica Herman.
