Today is International Women’s Day – here are our favourite women owned brands

Today is International Women's Day, which means it is a day dedicated to women – and a focal point for the movement for women's rights and equality.

The day first started back in 1909 in New York, and was made an annual event the following year as a 'Special Women's Day'. It wasn't until 1967 that the day was adopted by the feminist movement, where the day was primarily focused on conducting change and equality between sexes.

International Women's Day differs from country to country – in some it is a day of protest, elsewhere it is a day that celebrates women, and in others it is largely ignored. Today we are recognising all the amazing things women have done, starting by supporting these incredible female owned brands.
