Where the Desperate Housewives cast are now from jail sentences to fallouts

It's possible 2022 could be the best TV year ever. Bridgerton is returning for a second series, the Kardashians are launching their new reality show and we're in the midst of Sex and the City revival – though And Just Like That has been met with mixed reviews.

Arguably most exciting of all, Desperate Housewives could be returning after 10 years away.

The ABC show took to Twitter on New Year's Eve with a photo of the core cast and the caption: "*Desperately* waiting for 2022."

We're now desperate for answers as to if and when a new series is really happening. If we're dreaming, please don't wake us up.

The show began in 2004 and followed a group of close friends who resided in Wisteria Lane. While on the surface the neighbourhood seemed like a dream place to live, in reality there was plenty of scandal, crime and forbidden romances.

But where are the actors behind our favourite Wisteria residents now?

Marcia Cross (Bree Van de Kamp)

Bree was the most traditional housewife and her old school values often led to her judging other residents of the street… although nobody was complaining when they were benefiting from her home cooking.

Marcia, now 59, has remained a star of the small screen playing Kimberly Shaw in Melrose Place and President Claire Haas in thriller Quantico.

She most recently popped up in Netflix's You as lawyer Jean, who tries to convince her client that his wife wasn't murdered by Joe and Love Goldberg. She couldn't have been more wrong.

Marcia has spoken about being willing to return to You with a bigger role. She said: “Let’s just say this: If Penn Badgley’s character wants to fall for an older woman, I’m in.”

Similar to Bree, Marcia also has two children – twin daughters Eden and Savannah, 14, with actor husband Tom Mahoney.

In 2017, Marcia was diagnosed with anal cancer. She decided to be open about her diagnosis to help end stigmatisation.

"I know that there are people who are ashamed," she said. "You have cancer. Should you then also feel like ashamed like you did something bad because it took up residence in your anus?" Marcia is now in remission.

Teri Hatcher (Susan Meyer)

We meet the clumsy single mum to golden child Julie in episode one, and then watch as she falls in love with hunky plumber Mike Delfino. Their romance, of course, comes with plenty of drama.

Teri may have been firm friends with the other housewives on screen, but behind the scenes things were suitably less rosy.

Teri reportedly demanded to be centre in a photo shoot for Vanity Fair to promote the new show, and things went downhill from there.

Nicollette Sheridan, who played Edie Britt, later allegedly called Teri the “meanest woman in the world.” When the show came to an end the cast brought presents for the crew to show their gratitude, but Teri's name wasn't included. Let's hope the girls can call a truce and reunite for us fans!

Away from the drama, 57 year old Teri has launched a YouTube channel which she called 'Hatching Change'.

The videos shared with her 19.5k subscribers aim to "help you eat better, feel better, and LIVE BETTER!". Although, she previously uploaded weekly, she hasn't shared a video in a year. Perhaps she's been too busy secretly filming Desperate Housewives?

Teri also recently reunited with co-star James Denton, who played Mike, for romantic festive film A Kiss Before Christmas.

Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo)

Lynette was continually battling between being a stay at home mum for her five children and rejoining the business world.

She would do anything for her family, and in real life it seems Felicity, 59, has similar morals.

The actress unexpectedly hit headlines when she was found guilty of paying $15,000 to boost her eldest daughter Sophia’s SAT score in order to help her get into college.

She was sentenced to 14 days in federal prison and ordered to complete 250 days of community service.

Following the scandal, she has returned to acting in Sacramento River Cats but a release date is yet to be announced.

Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis)

Model Gabrielle gives up her high-flying career for a quieter life in the suburbs.

Much like Gabrielle, Eva also has a glamorous lifestyle, fronting campaigns for hair brand L'Oreal and counting Victoria Beckham as a best friend.

As well as impressing on-screen, Eva has also proved her credentials behind the camera by serving as an Executive Producer on comedy-drama Devious Maids, as well as documentaries on social issues.

She is a lot more caring than the often selfish Gabrielle and has set up and supported multiple charities. This includes the Eva Longoria Foundation, which aims to help close the education gap for Latinos.

Eva, now 46, met her third husband José Antonio "Pepe" Bastón Patiño on a blind date, and the couple share three year old son Santi.

She was previously married to Basketball player Tony Parker before discovering multiple texts on his phone from another woman. "I didn't realise it at the time with Tony, but I had become my own version of a desperate housewife," she said.
