New Order to Livestream Sold-Out Concert, Duran Duran Keen to Play Glastonbury

The ‘True Faith’ band will bring their upcoming sold-out gig online while Simon Le Bon and bandmates would love to perform at one of the U.K. biggest music festivals.

AceShowbizNew Order will livestream their sold-out show from London’s The O2 arena.

The “True Faith” band make their debut at the venue on 6 November (21), which is also their first performance in the capital since they played at Alexandra Palace in 2018.

Marking the occasion, the group has teamed up with Live Here Now bosses to air the concert in real time globally.

The group will hit the stage at 8.45 pm GMT and the livestream will be available to watch on-demand for the following 72 hours.

“We were so looking forward to seeing everyone on tour by now,” New Order said in a statement. “It has been frustrating not being able to play live in person, but this is the next best thing.”

“It feels right to bring everyone together around the world through whatever means possible. This is a special show for us and we want to share it with you all.”

Meanwhile, Duran Duran would play Glastonbury if they were offered a prominent slot at the festival.

The 80s’ New Romantic icons – who released their 15th studio album, “Future Past”, on Friday (22Oct21) – would jump at the chance to play the Pyramid Stage at the Worthy Farm festival should they get the call from organisers Emily and Michael Eavis.

Keyboardist Nick Rhodes told The Sun newspaper, “We played Coachella a few years ago, which was great.”

“In the ’80s, if you were a pop band you weren’t really asked to play a festival. It’s something we’ve had to learn.”

Asked if they’d like to play the world-famous Somerset event, frontman Simon Le Bon replied, “We are up for it – if we get the right slot.”

“We’re not going to play in a little acoustic tent but if we get the right slot, we’d love to do it.”
