Strictly’s Aljaz Skorjanec’s co-stars show support after he falls ill on tour

Strictly Come Dancing stars have rallied up behind Aljaz Skorjanec after he had to postpone a show due to illness.

The professional dancer and his partner Janette Manrara, 39, were all set for their A Christmas to Remember tour until Aljaz, 32, became poorly.

The couple had been due to perform at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Monday (December 5) but announced to fans that the show would not go ahead as scheduled.

Aljaz who revealed he'd be leaving Strictly earlier in March after nine years on the show, posted a statement about the tour's upcoming shows.

He told his 530,000 followers: "We are devastated that we have to cancel tonight's show in Belfast. We were so excited to come to perform for you, but unfortunately, I am truly unwell. Doctors have advised me not to travel or perform."

He added: "We are working on a new date for Belfast so please retain your ticket for the new date or request a refund from your point of purchase. We are sorry, but we hope you see you very soon."

His wife Janette, who left Strictly last year after eight years, added that her husband's "health is important" and said the decision had been with a "heavy heart".

Janette said: "Apologies for the inconvenience caused. If Aljaz could have performed, he absolutely would have."
