Strictly’s Tom Fletcher wants Harry Potter’s Tom Felton to play him in a film

Tom Fletcher has chosen which actor he would like to play him in a future McFly film – and the lucky candidate is rather good at waving wands as well as guitars.

That's because the McFly singer, 36, has revealed he'd like Harry Potter star Tom Felton, 34, to play him in a biopic movie about him and his band.

Hollywood actor Tom is best known for playing the villainous wizard of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films – and the fantasy franchise is one of the most commercially successful of all time.

Fletcher is currently competing on the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside his professional dance partner Amy Dowden.

The pop star has been forced to drop out of the hit BBC One show for a week as he and Amy tested positive for Covid, meaning they have to self isolate for the time being.

The singer has been keeping busy at home by catching up with his fans on social media, but it also appears he's been plotting a future McFly film.

Taking to his Instagram Story during a Q&A session with his 2million followers, Tom insisted that Tom Felton would be the perfect fit to play him on the big screen.

One fan asked him: "Who would play you in a McFly film?"

Tom replied by sharing a throwback snap of him standing next to Felton at an event, and the smiling pair looked strikingly similar.

The Harry Potter star was sporting a suave suit whilst the McFly singer wore a breezy blue shirt with a necklace.

Tom cheekily called Tom "TF2" as he penned the caption: "TF2 has the role. All day long @t22felton".

Looking eerily similar to Tom from McFly isn't the only thing that would prepare Tom for the potential role though, because he's a musician in his own right.

Felton is an avid singer and guitarist who has released a number of singles and EPs, which means he'd find it easier than most slipping into the role of singing McFly songs on camera.

The star regularly serenades his adoring fans on Instagram and TikTok when he picks up the guitar to post sweet singing videos.

In 2015, Felton interviewed Fletcher for his BBC Three programme, Tom Felton Meets the Superfans, where the actor met the world's most committed fans.

Felton recently collapsed during a celebrity golf competition at the Ryder Cup in Wisconsin on 23 September 2021.

The star was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment after being lifted off of the golf course on a stretcher.

Following the incident, he reassured fans that he was "on the mend" and being well looked after in a video posted to his Instagram account.
