Best Haven holiday parks for babies and toddlers, including Wales, Norfolk & Yorkshire from £84 per stay

DURING term-time weekdays, younger kids can have full reign of the Haven holiday parks, which have loads to occupy under-fives.

With parks based close to beaches and activities that range from indoor pools with slides and splash areas, to amusement arcades and creative workshops, little ones will never be bored.

While all Haven destinations are tots-friendly, there are particular parks that have everything young ones will need, from the perfect facilities and a ton of activities, to kids cutlery in the restaurants.

Parks that have the new Marina Bar and Stage, such as Seashore and Hopton, have more space for child friendly activities and entertainment during the day. They also have specific splash areas for toddlers at the pool.

Its worth noting that due to current Covid restrictions, some activities such as indoor soft play areas and indoor shows have to remain closed, but there is hope that these will reopen once restrictions are lifted.

This is expected to be from May 17 in England, but reopening dates for Wales and Scotland are yet to be announced.

In the meantime, here are nine of the best Haven parks for under-fives:

Craig Tara, Scotland

One of Haven's largest parks, Craig Tara has loads to keep little ones occupied, including the Oodles family amusement centre with its arcade games.

There's the Splashaway Bay water complex with slides and flumes and the all-weather Lighthouse Harbour Adventure Village, which is like a mini seaside world for kids. It has its own stage, creative studio, sensory room and areas like toy shops and kitchens, while in the centre is a large play RNLI lifeboat.

Families can enjoy spending quiet time together, as the park has direct access to a sand and pebble beach – perfect for taking a stroll along the rugged Ayrshire coast.

The peaceful town of Ayr is also just a ten minute drive away.

Hafan y Môr, North Wales

This park in North Wales is home to the Dragon Lakes Adventure Village, where little ones can take a ride in mini 4×4 off-roaders with their parents, enjoy a trip on a boating lake, or play in sand pits.

They'll be well catered for in the food department too, with family-friendly grub served at the Coast House bar & grill and sweet treats from the Cakery.

The beautiful scenery of Wales is on your doorstep – if tots can tear themselves away from the swimming pool.

Haggerston Castle, Northumberland

This holiday park really does have a castle, adding a touch of magic to a break as soon as you arrive.

Toddlers and babies can explore their artistic side at The Creative Studio, visit seven different lakes for a bit of wildlife spotting and take a stroll along the landscaped walkways of the park.

If everyone gets tired out they can relax in the heated pool, head to the rooftop Tower bar to refuel with drinks and snacks or enjoy some day and night entertainment.

  • Haggerston Castle breaks from £107 per stay

Hopton, Norfolk

Hopton Holiday Village has a heated indoor and outdoor pool complex, including a fun SplashZone and flumes that tots will love.

There are lovely ponds to explore and a sandy beach right by the park.

  • Hopton breaks from £99 per stay

Kiln Park, South Wales

Head to Kiln Park in South Wales where you not only have the seaside town of Tenby nearby, but there's also a Blue Flag beach that's ideal for young children.

Toddlers will love to splash and splosh down the water slides, or in the mini SplashZone of the heated indoor and outdoor pools.

There's a seaside themed family-friendly bar and restaurant and if you fancy a change of scene Kiln's sister park, Lydstep Beach, is just up the road and has lots of options for trying out watersports.

  • Kiln Park breaks from £149 per stay

Primrose Valley, Yorkshire

With a large lake, this park is perfect for taking little ones out on a Pedalo or for enjoying the great scenery from the Lakehouse bar and restaurant.

Families can also pop out for the day to nearby Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington.

The award-winning Sandbanks Beach and Bournemouth are not too far either.

  • Rockley Park breaks from £188 per stay

Seashore, Norfolk

Seashore Holiday Park is the only park that's right on the beachfront at Great Yarmouth.

Tots will love the traditional seafront, which is home to the historic Pleasure Beach amusement park and the Golden Mile, where they can play on the sand and build sandcastles.

Back at the park there are water flumes, slides and fun splash areas, a new Pizza Deck for family meals and an indoor soft play area.
