Disney holiday bookings boom for summer 2021 despite US border ban – with deals from £118pppn

BOOKINGS for Disney holidays are still booming despite the US borders being closed to Brits.

The surge in reservations comes following Christmas and the vaccine news, with families looking to book further in advance.

While the holidays are off the cards right now, eager travellers are planning ahead for their next Disney trip.

TUI confirmed that Florida is still popular for summer 2021 and 2022 holidays, adding they have been "selling really well since Christmas".

The tour operator is currently offering deals for Disney holidays including a free $200 gift voucher and 14 nights for the price of seven.

UK ticket website attractiontickets.com said there was a "significant increase in demand for Disney tickets and hotel package" following the vaccine rollout in the UK.

However, families won't be able to visit the park on the exact day of the anniversary – the theme park has already sold out of tickets for October 1.

There are a lot of new changes coming to the theme park this year.

Epcot will have four neighbourhoods – World Showcase, World Nature, World Discovery, and World Celebration – each with different rides and attractions.

At the France Pavillion in World Showcase, the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open, a trackless ride where guests can see the join the popular rat and other characters along the way.

World Discovery will have the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster, although an official opening date has yet to be given for the ride this year, with fears it may be delayed due to Covid.

A new HarmonioUS show will debut at World Showcase while a Moana-inspired Journey of Water trail will open at World Nature.

The park also has the new TRON Lightcycle which hopes to open this year, although may also be delayed due to Covid, as well as a renovated Cinderella's Castle.

The other parks are getting in on the anniversary too – Disneyland Paris has a new Marvel hotel and Cars ride, while the Marvel Avengers Campus is opening at Disneyland California.

Disney World has reopened to the public but Disneyland Paris and Disneyland California remain closed.

Last week, Disneyland California reopened not as a theme park but as as a vaccination site.
