Drayton Manor’s new Adventure Cove attraction to open this week with nautical themed rides and food stalls

DRAYTON Manor's new nautical-themed attraction Adventure Cove is to open this week.

From Friday, guests will be able to visit the new land which has new rides and cafes, all themed around the sea.

There are two new attractions – the Wave Swinger which sends passengers into the sky with views over the land, and Tidal Towers, where kids can climb the playground with rope bridges and slides.

There is also a new food stop, Chicken Diner, with fried chicken options.

Stormforce 10, a ride launched in association with the RNLI will also open as part of the land, while the Shockwave ride – the only stand-up rollercoaster with a zero-gravity roll – will be getting a makeover.

The new land is included in the ticket price for Drayton Manor, which includes other attractions including Thomas Land.

William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor Park, said: “It’s been very exciting gearing up to launch Adventure Cove, with a number of new rides and attractions for families and theme park fans alike.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming guests to enjoy seafaring adventures and experience a summer of fun at Drayton Manor Park.”

The theme park reopened back in April, although most Covid restrictions have been lifted since then.

They still have the following rules in place:

  • Hand sanitisation units available on site.
  • Enhanced cleaning throughout the park, which could mean rides and outlets may close for cleaning at periods throughout the day
  • Recommended to pre-book tickets online.
  • One-way system in the Zoo.
  • Recommended to wear face masks on some thrill rides

They also have a Rainy Day Guarantee, which means if you experience continuous rain for 2 or more hours you can return to the park free of charge.

There are a number of exciting new rides and attractions opening in the UK this year, after many were forced to delay their grand openings due to Covid.

Paultons Park has opened their 1950s Americana themed land this year, called Tornado Springs while Alton Towers has a new David Walliams themed attraction.
