Inside the UK's biggest indoor water park with 18 slides – and it's right by the beach | The Sun

THE UK's biggest water park is found right by the beach – and it is warm all year round.

Sandcastle Water Park in Blackpool, which opened in 1986, is the biggest in the country, with 18 slides and some record-breaking coasters.

There are a number of rides and attractions inside, including the longest indoor rollercoaster waterslide, Master Blaster, which is also the first uphill water rollercoaster.

Other rides include the double slide Duelling Dragons, vertical drop ride Sidewinder as well as scary rides Aztec Falls and Montazooma.

Younger guests can still enjoy the water park with other more family friend areas such as Thunder Falls Waterslides and Treetops Water Chutes.

There are also treehouses and forts for kids to play on, as well as a wave pool and lazy river and the UK's biggest water cannon.

A cafe and restaurant are also onsite serving snacks and meals as well as alcoholic drinks.

Don't worry if it's cold out, as it remains at a "tropical" 84 degrees (28C).

It's also right by the beach as it's found on Blackpool's famous promenade.

Adults can also pay extra to visit the Sea Breeze Spa, which has a sauna, steam room and foot spas.

The park also has private Tiki Cabanas you can rent for the day, which come with beers and wine, lunch, as well as a TV, seating area and hot tub.

The water park is open all year round, although only on weekends throughout the winter season.

Tickets are for three-hour time slots, and locals even get 50 per cent discounts.

Previous guests have sung it's praises, with one parent writing: "Wow, best family activity we have ever done together. Our 9 year old loved and we, the parents loved it just as much."

Another person wrote: "This is really the only attraction we have ever done in Blackpool (bar the Pleasure Beach) and we return every year."

Here are some other water parks in the UK you should visit, including a huge new £250million attraction opening in 2025.

The water park isn't the only attraction you should visit in Blackpool this year.

A £2.3million Gruffalo tourist attraction is opening on Blackpool's seafront later this year.

And last month, Blackpool was named the UK’s best budget staycation destination.
