WhileDan Walker is a familiar face on people’s TV screens up and down the country thanks to his role presenting the news on Channel 5, the TV personality tends to keep his home life underwraps.
However, over on Instagram, Dan has 277,000 followers and often gives fans a glimpse inside of his life off camera including of recent hotel stays or walks with his adorable dog Winnie.
Most recently, Dan shocked fans after sharing aterrifying health update that left him “glad to be alive” and thankful for the help of the NHS after getting hit by a car while riding his bike.
In response to the snap, which saw Dan’s face covered in blood, his followers and friends were quick to show their support to the popular TV host.
As he embarks on his recovery, it’s likely that Dan will be recovering with the support of his family at home, including his wife Sarah, who he met while at the University of Sheffield in 1999.
Two years later the pair tied the knot and since then Dan and Sarah have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight.
However, during Dan’s stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, the beloved broadcast journalist gushed over his wife as he thanked her for all of her support during his time on the show.
“She's one of those people, the more you know her the more you love her… and I've known her and loved her for over half my life,” he said.
“She's absolutely amazing, she's such a special person and I love her to bits. I hope she enjoyed that because we really loved it.”
Together the pair are parents to three children. They have two daughters called Susanna and Jessica as well as a son called Joe.
Back in June, the former BBC Breakfast presenter revealed that he’d taken one of his daughtersto A&E after she’d suffered a nasty injury which left her finger battered and bruised.
Following the incident, Dan praised the NHS for supporting his family despite the pressures that the staff were experiencing.
“She has a little buckle fracture but all is ok,” he wrote in reference to the injury. “Thanks to the lovely staff at @SheffChildrens who are doing a brilliant job with staff shortages at the moment. The nurse who dressed it was 90 mins into a 13 hour shift! Love the NHS.”
Together, Dan and his family live in a stunning home in Sheffield and the TV personality has, on occasion, given his followers a glimpse inside the property.
Given his sporty credentials, Dan’s home is filled with trinkets relating to his love for sport, including a football trophy, plenty of footballs and Football Focus memorabilia.
Having first started out as a student and local radio journalist, TV viewers may best know Dan from presentingBBC Breakfast from 2016 until the summer of 2022. Now he presents the news on Channel 5.
