As one of the quickest and easiest ways to cleanse your face, micellar water should be a staple in everyone’s bathroom cabinet.

But you may be surprised to learn that there’s much more that you can do with this wonder water than simply removing makeup and grime at the end of the day. From tidying up tan mistakes to keeping your false lashes looking fresh, there are numerous other beauty uses for this clever cleanser.

And if you’re going to be getting plenty of use out of your micellar water, it makes sense to stock up on a big bottle, at a great price – and we’ve got just the thing.

A 500ml bottle of Bioderma Hydrobio H2O Micellar Water usually costs £19.20, but you’ll find it in this month’s OK! Beauty Edit box – which you can get for just £7.50* when you sign up to the introductory offer.

If that wasn’t enough of a bargain, the box also contains four other brilliant skincare must-haves, worth over £80 in total!

Here’s what else you can use your new micellar water for…

Fix makeup mistakes

A perfectly lined pout or a flawless eyeliner flick can be tricky things to master. Makeup mistakes, however, can be easily rectified with a little bit of micellar water. Simply dip a cotton bud or a fine angled brush like this Zoeva one into the liquid and use it to remove unwanted smudges of eyeliner or lipstick. It’s an excellent trick if you find your mascara always transfers onto your eyelids before it dries, too.

Repair cracked powders

There’s nothing more annoying than dropping your favourite powder, blush or eyeshadow compact and discovering it has shattered inside. Before you automatically chuck it in the bin, it may be salvageable. Add a couple of drops of micellar water to the product, smooth it into the cracks, then leave it to set overnight, Et voila! Good as new.

Remove patchy fake tan

Orange patches, typically around the hands, feet and elbows, are a telltale sign that your bronzed skin may not be entirely the result of a particularly sunny weekend spent in the park.

Micellar water can remove unwanted fake tan more effectively than regular water, and more gently than scrubbing away at it. Soak a cotton pad with it and blot away until the colour has faded.

Clean your makeup brushes

Micellar water isn’t just good at removing makeup from your face. It’s great at cleaning your brushes too, as it’ll draw makeup out from the fine hairs. Simply pour a little into a bowl, swirl your brush around until it looks clean, then squeeze out the excess liquid. We recommend giving your brushes a quick rinse with water afterwards to remove any lingering surfactants.

Preserve your false eyelashes

Most false lashes are easy enough to remove (even after a few drinks…) but they’re often left with clumps of glue stuck to the base, resulting in a less than even application when you want to reuse them.

Place your used lashes on a paper towel then soak a cotton bud in micellar water and gently run it along the lash line and the hairs. It’ll remove any lingering traces of glue or mascara without pulling them out of shape.
