Kate Middleton paid a subtle tribute to the late Princess Diana with a bracelet she was sporting at the G7 Summit on Friday.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended the event in Cornwall alongside political leaders as well as other members of the royal family, including the Queen and Prince William.

As Kate sported a gorgeous white Alexander McQueen coat dress, royal fans spotted a three-strand pearl bracelet which once belonged to her mother-in-law Diana.

The Princess of Wales wore the bracelet with her infamous “Elvis” dress during a royal visit to Hong Kong in 1989.

It has now been handed down to Prince William’s wife and the delicate piece of jewellery didn’t go unnoticed as she wore it on her wrist.

During the reception in Cornwall, the Queen, who recently marked her late husband Prince Philip's 100th birthday by planting a rose in his name, posed for a G7 "family photograph".

The Royal Family then attended an event in celebration of Eden Project's The Big Lunch initiative, which encourages people across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on a weekend in June in "simple act of community, friendship and fun".

Her Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses met people from communities across Cornwall and the Queen cut a cake to mark the occasion.

Earlier in the day, the Duchess of Cambridge broke her silence on her brother-in-law Prince Harry's addition to the family, little Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

The 36 year old and Meghan Markle, 39, welcomed their daughter on Friday 4 June and Kate told a reporter she was looking forward to meeting her new niece in the near future.

She said: “I wish her the very best. I can’t wait to meet her. We haven’t met her yet, I hope that will be soon.”
